Do we need a detailed history explaining where the phrase 'bipolar recovery' came from and how recovery from bipolar affective disorder has developed over the years. If you would like to contribute to this - please contact me.

Roger Smith facilitates courses in the UK such as; Understanding Mood (Bipolar) Disorder as well as many on mental health awareness and recovery.

In 2006 Roger co-facilitated a successful 3 day self management of bipolar disorder course in Slough (UK). After the course a participant suggested creating a way for people who had attended bipolar recovery courses to support each other and www.bipolarrecovery.org was set up.

A national charity providing recovery courses asked that we close the web site as they felt it could impinge on their work. This web site then remained unused until July 2009 when we wondered if the site name of bipolarrecovery might be ideal for sharing information on this subject.
